Road Pavement & Soil Stabilization
Lime, a quick and inexpensive chemical to improve strength and stiffness of soil in order to use it as a base or sub-base in road making.
Lime improves the mechanical performance and workability of soils for hydraulic works, rail tracks, highways, airports and industrial platforms. Lime can be used to substantially increase the stability, impermeability and load-bearing capacity of the road sub-grade. Hydrated lime will enhance the durability of all asphalt structures while in the presence of water, quicklime spontaneously hydrates to form calcium hydroxide releasing heat energy. The heat released from the reaction will instantly dries out clammy soil. On top of that, lime can also be added to clayey soil to improve its characteristics.
